A visit to one of the seven wonders of the contemporary world, the NASA Kennedy Space Center, is a must.  Here you can watch footage shot by astronauts at the five-story IMAX cinema, take part in interactive exhibits and step into a replica space orbiter. Nearby Daytona Beach, ‘the world’s most famous beach’, boasts many museums of marine life and fishing centres and is well worth a visit.
