Is there anything more romantic than sailing out of port, sails billowing, with nothing but the open sea ahead of you? This is yacht cruising. Small, intimate ships, fascinating itineraries and plenty of time to go exploring on land.

Kenwood Travel works with a number of yacht style cruise specialists. The most renowned are Windstar Cruises, SeaDream Yacht Club and French operator Ponant’s sailing ship, Le Ponant. These voyages are typically for clients who wouldn’t necessarily consider a cruise, but love the idea of a holiday on the water. These ships glide into port, carrying just a few hundred guests, and often stay later – or even overnight – allowing them to really explore what their destination offers during the evening. 

Yacht style ships are also packed full of water toys, which are free for guests to use. From kayaks to stand-up paddle-boards and small sailing boats. If you want to be as close to the water as possible when you go on holiday, a yacht cruise could be the perfect holiday for you. 

The destinations are typically around the Mediterranean in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter but can vary by cruise line. From pretty towns to deserted islands. Yacht cruising is an incredible experience and makes for the perfect holiday.
